About Woodhill

Incorporated in 1915, Woodhill Country Club is a private family club located in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities. Members of all generations enjoy the many activities the club offers including golf, tennis, paddle tennis, swimming and ice skating. In addition to outdoor activities, members gather for family meals, a Sunday brunch, a special holiday event or an evening with good friends.

The golf course, a traditional Donald Ross design completed in 1917, was host to the Trans-Mississippi Tournament, won by Jack Nicklaus in 1957. The golfing membership annually supports the Evans Scholarship Program. Woodhill’s most recent Evans Scholar, a sophomore, is studying finance at the University of Minnesota. Phil Reith, Head Golf Professional, is approaching his 40th year at Woodhill.

The tennis facility, consisting of ten clay courts situated on the hill, boasts an active family tennis program headed by Mike Ach and his staff. Over the years it has been host to several Junior Sectional Tournaments.

Woodhill’s swim team, directed by Kelsey Hackler, is a member of the Western Swim League. Besides competitive swimming for the children, the Woodhill pool is open for recreation, lap swimming, water aerobics and synchronized swimming.

Winter activities center around a skating pond and two hockey rinks, home to youth hockey team practices, four lighted paddle tennis courts and a cross country ski trail. The Woodhill Barn is the site of casual family gatherings and club parties.
